A golden retriever, and eight years in one frame.
Winston spent his last chapter in the care of the veterinary team at UC Davis. His portrait was assembled from 347 photographs gathered across his eight years — walks, naps, the ordinary mornings that turn out to be the ones you keep.
From across the room it is simply his face. Lean in, and it becomes 347 smaller days — every tile one of his own photographs, nothing invented, nothing generated.
That is the whole idea: one portrait read at two distances. The whole of him from afar; up close, the eight years that made him.
